Inkscape
by Andrew

So I found a new free graphics program called Inkscape. It works very differently from GIMP or MsPaint, and so the first few days were really confusing. At this point I have a better handle on it, but it still takes considerably longer to draw my comics. The first few I made were questionably better, but many after that were obviously surperior, and so I am having a debate with myself as to what is more important: my time or how my comic looks.

In the next few days/weeks, I would love to hear some feedback as to what you think. If you perferred the look of my old comic, or you really like how the new one looks. I figure most people would like something that looks moderately good, but some people may enjoy something different from most of the comics out there (and those people might be my regular fans, I don't know). So, yeah, feedback would be appreciated.

Because I like the fixed-art style, I am not going to update the Presidential Fire Drills. As for the other ones I reuse from time-to-time, I am not sure.

So here we are celebrating a little more than 2 months and already there have been 3,000 visitors and over 50,000 pageviews! That is really fantastic.

I am currently working with new software, and so the comic images might change a lot soon, but I have not decided if the change will be perminant (there are still a few hurdles, not least of all the time it takes to draw in the new software).

Grad School starts tomorrow, but I have a significant comic buffer so I do not think that will affect updates. And who knows, maybe I'll get some new material.

1000 visitors
by Andrew

Huzzah! With 1,000 visitors and over 12,000 pageviews, Past and Present has clearly worked its way into the hearts and minds of everyone in the world. Ok, maybe not, but it is really great to see that people are enjoying the comics. With that kind of encouragement, I am quite happy to keep the daily updates coming.

Thanks for your support.

One month!
by Andrew

I am celebrating one month of "Past and Present". So far the artwork has come a long way, some themes are beginning to take shape, and I have created two fixed-art strips that I see myself using quite a bit (the Presidents are the obvious one, and the other is the "two guys" that I've used a few times so far).

This month, there have been over 600 visitors and more than 7,000 pageviews. This is very exciting. I do not know what the future will be for this comic, but I have enjoyed reading and listening to comments and fan mail.

I have more-or-less moved officially to only one comic a day, that way I can build up a good buffer for when I don't have as much free time.

So, good PnP'ers, hopefully the next month will be just as good, or better, than the first.

Two Weeks!
by Andrew

So, this is officially the two-week mark for my comic. There have been some big changes in the artwork, and that has been a lot of fun. I will start scaling-down my updates to maybe 2 a day so that I can work up a decent buffer in case I ever get busy.

I have a rotating banner at the top now, advertising one of the other comics hosted here, I think it's pretty funny, check it out. The banner itself sometimes is not in the right place, I'm trying to figure out what I can do about that, but since I really just script-kiddied it in, I'm limited in my options.

Anyways, I encourage you to leave comments and rate my comics so I get an idea of what people are enjoying. And if you write your own, and you want to swap banners, just let me know.
